22nd Sep: Vale Nells Belle
Published: 21 Sep 2017 - - Author: Kirsty Lawrence

It is with sadness we report the loss of Nells Belle today at Wanganui. For all the times that she has lost the rider, in her quirky drop of the shoulder it has been after the fence, but today she made an uncharacteristic mistake at the fence and fell.

Unusually her first appearance raceday was in a Maiden Hurdle race in July 2014 and it took her a season to sort it out, running a few good placings and clearing maiden jumping ranks at Te Aroha in July 2016 with Emma Goodinson aboard and then winning again at Te Aroha with Shaun Fannin aboard.

Our thoughts tonight are with Breeder, Owner and Trainer Neil O'Dowd who had done everything with this quirky mare, and we cant describe the heartbreak of heading home with just her empty halter and bridle tonight. The Racing Website wishes you all the best Neil.
